Well-known and most famous Tourist Sports in Coorg are as follows.
Abbey Falls:
Adorned with the beauties of lush greenery - typical Western Ghat landscapes, private coffee plantations, stocky coffee bushes, and blanketed with pepper plants, Abbey Falls is one of the most desirable tourist destinations, environmental enthusiasts, and photographers that scales up to thousands of visitors each year. Abbey Falls, alternatively spelled Abbi Falls, is situated around 10 kilometers from Madikeri Town. The greeneries and Abbey Falls also include a breathtaking scene: the water cascade dropping from the cliff's height of 70 feet. In addition to the glory, the gorgeous view of white foam down the ridge can also be seen, captured, and kept as a memory from an over-bridge hanging opposite the Falls.
One of South India’s most stunning waterfalls is formed when a few mountain streams and brooks meet together and flow into the River Kaveri or Cauvery as one of the tributaries from the cliff. Two hundred stars are required to descend the falls from the main entrance that takes you towards the grace and beauty of the natural world that consists of - cardamom, coffee, pepper, and other plantations that are, in no doubt, an opportunity to capture the photographers.

Talacauvery:
Situated at 1,276 m above sea level, Talacauvery is the source of the river Kaveri located on the Barahmagiri hill nearby Bhagamandala in the Kodagu district. The tank or the Kundike through which the river begins by spring feeding Kundike before flowing underground and emerging as the Kaveri a few distances away was built by the Kodavas and is now regarded as the beginning point. The following place also has a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kaveriamma situated just next to the tank. Bathing there, especially on holy days, brings up good fortune.
Thousands of tourists and pilgrims assemble next to the stream on Cauvery Changrandi Day to witness the spring’s fountainhead rise, which occurs when the river water spews up at a predetermined time. Golden Temple (Namdroling Monastery):
Entitled with the name “Golden Temple,” Namdroling Monastery is the primary teaching facility of the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism, having Thegchog Namdrol Shedrub Daryeling as its full name. Namdroling Monastery is situated 34 kilometers from the Coorg. It is the home to some prominent examples of Tibetan architecture and art, embedded glory by elaborately decorated temple tower, decorative outside walls that are richly and artistically painted with lovely paintings. Within an area of 80 square feet, Namdroling Monastery is the residence of around 5,000 Sangha members group with some auxiliary buildings like educational facilities and hospitals constructed with Bamboo that the Indian Government donated to exiles.
At the time of his departure from the Tibets, Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche, the 11th throne-holder of the Palyul lineage of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, founded this magnificent monastery in 1963. The initial structure was made up of bamboo covering an area of 80 sq. feet that is currently the home to Tibetan Refugees. The Indian Government donated it, showing their generosity toward the people. The most magnificent opportunity and sightings that one should not miss ever in the temple are the monks’ prayer practices and the massive 40-foot-tall golden statues of Guru Padmasambhava, Buddha Sakyamuni, and Amityaus that are surrounded by the significant paintings depicting various elements of Tibetan Buddhists Mythologies and the well-maintained gardens around the location that fills-up the relaxing atmosphere inside the temple.
Raja’s Seat & Raja’s Garden:
Designed with expertly crafted artificial fountains and lovely floral plans, Raja’s Seat is the garden in the Madikeri district of Coorg. The Garden was once the favorite spot among the Kings of Kodagu to relax, calm, and have ample space with their queens to enjoy the sunsets. Raja’s Seat is still an excellent Sun Set point to witness the sun setting into undulating mountains. Also, Raja’s Seat is filled with mesmerizing garden with a variety of flowers that is no doubt a major attraction for nature lovers and is a famous place for the locals to go for a picnic to experience the lavish royal lifestyle of the Coorg.
The Raja’s Seat, constructed on an elevation site with a view of valleys to the west, has its early mornings typically foggy and chilly. Still, as soon as the sun rises, the fog eventually lifts and reveals the breathtaking vista of the lush green gardens covered with colorful seasonal flower beds. The Archaeological Survey of India is currently the caretaker of this location, a popular destination among nature lovers due to its gorgeous seasonal bloom, attractive sighting, and panoramic view. Sunsets here are equally beautiful, with the musical fountains added to the collections of glorified things in the garden.
Dubare Elephant Camp:
Dubare Elephant Camp, once the training site for elephants, is well-known for the Dasara parade in Mysore, which provides guests with a one-of-a-kind experience of being on the site with well-trained elephants. The Dubare Elephant Camp was once the vital camp of the Karnataka Forest Department and is now handled by private individuals; it is a great place to learn various facts about the history, ecology, and biology of elephants and also witness a significant number of Asiatic Elephants peacefully enjoying their natural habitat at the same time. Throughout the camp, naturalists and mahouts skilled in handling these gentle but majestic giants are constantly present while providing various insights to the bystanders about the elephants.

Perhaps there are plenty of crops grown here, but the main ones always in consideration are - Coffee and Spices, including peppers, ginger, and cardamom cultivated here. This town is also surrounded by gorgeous tourist destinations with the natives speaking Kodava Takk, Are Bhashe, Tulu, Beary Bashe, Konkani, English, and Hindi, even though most of them are Kannadigas. The town is also famous for its authentic Coorgie food that includes non-vegetarian dishes like - Pork curry and steamed rice dumplings called kadubittu, chicken curry, and akki roti (rice roti).
Located in the northern part of the Kodagu district in the south-western Indian State of Karnataka, Mallalli Falls is a gorgeous milky white waterfall situated at the base of the Pushpagiri Hills. 26 kilometers from the Somwarpet town. Mallalli falls from where the River Kumaradhara plunges over 1000 meters and travels the natural path that leads to the Arabian Sea. A breathtaking sighting that no one will ever want to miss is the heavenly setting of the River Kumaradhara’s pure white waters flowing deep from the waterfall’s main point.
Mallalli Falls:
One of the most mysterious waterfalls in Coorg, Karnataka, is the Mallalli Falls, the seasonal falls with the best time to witness during the monsoon season. They gradually descend in two layers, one at a time during the fall from 1000 meters. This fascinating cascade and the Abbey Falls in Kodagu are well-known local hotspots, and literally, no other natural water feature can match their splendor. While you are nearby the falls, you will be fascinated with the fall from the base to recognize their beauty; as you proceed, the angelic sounds of the falls will get louder, and when you are on the central spot, the calm and freezy water will drizzle on your face.

Mandalpatti:
Mandalpatti is a magnificent and unique site in Coorg, overlooking the grasslands of Pushpagiri forests in the Western Ghats. Situated at an altitude of 1800 meters, the place is also known as 'Muguli-peth' (translated into English as the market of clouds). Being a lush, serene place, Mandalapatti has received huge appraisals from tourists visiting Madikeri recently. Since the area offers peace and solitude, residents of nearby villages often plan their weekends here.
The best time to visit Mandalpatti is during the months of November to January. During the place is generally covered with mist but Mandalpatti promises captivating scenic and refreshing atmosphere. For the last 500meters or so vehicles are not allowed so you need to park and walk up.
